Idioms

It’s funny how our lives can suddenly get “turned upside down”. It’s as if someone “pulled the rug out from under us”. We may not know why it happens but they say it must happen for a reason; though we might not find out about that for a period of time. They say “change is good”, but what if bad comes out of it? Sure, we can choose our happiness, we can be responsible for it. But what about the times, when we’ve been hurt so deeply that it seems “forever and a lifetime” to heal? We can “let it go” but really, deep down, it still exists. It’s not always easy. Life goes on. People walk past “without an inkling” of what’s going on inside. I mean deep inside. We can “put up a facade” and pretend everything is “a-o.k.” because that’s what we’re supposed to do isn’t it?
Have you seen hopelessness in someone’s eyes? Have you seen it in your child’s eyes? Im sure Jesus has. “Give me your eyes.” I love that song by Brandon Heath. I've posted it before on my other blog but I will post a part of it here as well:

All those people going somewhere
Why have I never cared?
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
 Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken-hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
Well, I want a second glance
So give me a second chance
To see the way you've seen the people all along

I have seen hopelessnes--I have heard hopelessness--I may have "thought" I felt hopelessness--so now, what am I going to do about it? What are you going to do about it? What are we all going to do about it?
